Pet insurance
Pet insurance is sold by a handful of national carriers, so it is not a city-by-city directory. Compare what a policy actually pays before you buy.
- Ask whether the plan covers accidents only, or accidents and illness.
- Check the waiting period, the annual limit, and whether hereditary conditions are excluded.
- Wellness add-ons are optional. The medical plan is the part that matters for a large bill.
- Your veterinarian still provides the care. Insurance reimburses you. Vets and emergency clinics are listed on LostPet.com.
Local help is on PetTrader: boarding and doggy daycare, groomers, and trainers.
